My son, Tate, was diagnosed with Hodgon's Lymphoma this past summer. He is in Mrs. Albaugh's 2nd grade class. Since the beginning of the school year, she has formed a special bond with him. In fact, the entire class has a special bond with him. together they are the perfect teams of support for him! She and the class are extremely caring towards him. A FEW things she has done for Tate are: visiting Tate in the hospital at Univerisity of Iowa, setting up Skpe so that the class, principal, staff, and herself could see him and tell him jokes (which he loves) while he was hospitalized, texting a joke of the day to him daily when he is gone for chemotherapy or when his is home sick, offering to stop by after school on the days he is gone to work with Tate on his school work, and more recently she had bracelets made that say, "Together For Tate" to be sold at school so that all of his friends, schoolmates and teachers could support Tate's stuggle (and donated the proceeds to 2 children's organizations that are behind Tate's treatment). Of course all of this doesn't include countless emails to check on Tate with kind words. She is a wonderful compassionate person. She should definiately be Teacher of the Week (& YEAR to us!)
