Mrs. Huting does an excellent job of teaching to a diverse group of students. Even with having 24 second grade students in her classroom, she is able to identify individual strenghts and weaknesses in all the students. I have had two children go though her classroom and have been thrilled each time with how she "knows" my kids. With my first child, she noticed that he was advance in Math so she requested worksheets from the 3rd grade teachers for him. He reallyi grew academically that year. My son also had a small speech problem. Mrs. Huting was able to identify it and recommended intervention before it got worse. My second child is very creative and loves to do art projects. Mrs. Huting identified her talent and recommended her to an Explorer program in the school focusing on art.

If you were able to ask my 2nd grader waht she loves about Mrs. Huting, she would tell you that she loves to receive candy as a reinforcement! Mrs. Huting will give the student a piece of candy when they do well on worksheets or tests.

Mrs. Huting is a patient and dedicated teacher and I feel she is very deserving of the title "Teacher of the Week".
