PINK RIBBON GOLF CLASSIC Save the Date for the 12th Annual PINK RIBBON GOLF CLASSIC
Raising $58,000 for American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Research
The 12th Annual Pink Ribbon Golf Classic, in conjunction with the American Cancer Society, is an event open to the public with the goal to raise $58,000 for Breast Cancer Research. The much anticipated event is being held this year on July 20, at the Fox Ridge Golf Club in Dike.
So why participate in this day of fun? Because one of out of eight women will develop breast cancer. Cancer touches almost everyone in some way, and this event offers an opportunity for businesses and individuals to show support for continued research to find a cure for breast cancer and education about early detection and services.
The Four-Person Best Shot tournament will have two shotgun starts promptly at 7:00 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Morning and afternoon golfers will enjoy activities and treats throughout the course and a luncheon with a brief program beginning at 12:30 p.m. featuring the inspiring story of the Honorary Survivor.
Following the tournament, the public is invited to ‘Par-Tee for a CURE’ from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Fox Ridge Golf Club. Guests can enjoy music, appetizers and cash bar. Suggested $10 donation for admission to the Par-Tee for a CURE.
Call for Nominations! Do you know someone who is a Breast Cancer SURVIVOR? Someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, receiving treatment or has beaten the odds of living with breast cancer? The public is invited to submit nominations for this year’s Honorary Survivor. Nomination forms are available at the American Cancer Society office in Waterloo or by emailing tonya.ledvina@cfu.net or marty.mullnix@cancer.org Nominations will be accepted until 5:00pm on March 31, 2010 and may be completed via email or fax, they may also be mailed or delivered. The 2010 Honorary Survivor will be announced at the May 13 Pink Ribbon Golf Classic Kick Off event.
Sponsorship opportunities for the Pink Ribbon Golf Classic event are available now. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society - Breast Cancer Research. For more information, please contact Marty Mullnix at the American Cancer Society, 319-272-2880.
