ISU Grapplers finish NCAA's in 5th Place

Six seconds. That’s all that separated Iowa State from a second place finish at the NCAA Championships. Ohio State’s second seeded Mike Pucillo won after the second tie breaker with six seconds of riding time against two-time Cyclone NCAA finalist Jake Varner to carry the Buckeye to a 4-3 win in the 184 pound title match. The loss put Ohio State into second place in the team race while Iowa State fell into a tie with Oklahoma State for fifth place with 72 points. Iowa won the team title with 117.5. Penn State finished third with 75 points, and Nebraska was fourth with 74 points.
